Taste and sensation
Beside by means of the standard descriptors, odor is also characterised by means of taste and sensation.
The four taste descriptors are: salty, sweet, bitter, and sour.
The eight sensation descriptors are: itching, tingling, warm, burning, pungent, sharp, cool and metallic.
Even taste and sensation can be "measured" with a predetermined intensity scale (e.g. 0 to 5 for faint to strong). Even these two descriptors can be then represented with descriptor-roses. An example for sensation is illustrated in the following figure, produced with the WindRose PRO software.
